セレクティブ・サービス・システム(Selective Service System)は 独立機関のアメリカ合衆国連邦政府へのそれらの潜在的対象に関する情報を保持徴兵制（すなわち案）。18歳から26歳までのすべての男性米国市民（および男性移民非市民）は、法律により18歳の誕生日から30日以内に登録する必要があり[1][2]、10日以内に選択サービスに通知する必要があります。住所の変更など、登録カードに記載された情報が変更された日[3]。 選択的サービスシステムは、徴兵が必要になる可能性のための偶発的なメカニズムです。
選択的サービスへの登録は、連邦学生支援（FAFSA）の無料申請、学生ローンとPell Grants、職業訓練、連邦雇用、帰化など、さまざまな連邦プログラムと福利厚生に必要です[4]。
