経歴

ドイツ人の母親と中国系パナマ人の父親の娘としてニューヨーク市で生まれ育った。1972年にバーナード大学で文学士号を取得し、1975年にはコロンビア大学でMFAを取得した。その後、ニューヨーク・レビュー・オブ・ブックスで編集アシスタントとして働いた。

彼女が寄稿した出版物の中には、ニューヨークタイムズ、ニューヨークレビューオブブックス、パリレビュー、ハーパーズ、マクスウィーニー、ビリーバー、スリーペニーレビュー、ウォールストリートジャーナルがある。
