Kumiharu Shigehara

Kumiharu Shigehara has served with distinction as a central banker in Japan and also as a senior official at the OECD. He was Bank of Japan Chief Economist from 1989 to 1992 and OECD Chief Economist from 1992 to 1997. He has been active as an international commentator on a wide range of topics, including domestic and international monetary and economic policy issues as well as social welfare and environmental protection.
