Waseda University Business Contest (早稲田大学ビジネスコンテスト, Waseda Daigaku Business Contest) is a business contest that is held annually at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.

The contest started in 1998, making it one of the oldest and most prestigious business contests that are held by universities in Japan.

History[編集]

Waseda University Business Contest started in 1998 when the study of entrepreneurship at universities was still novel in Japan. One of the features of the contest is that it recruits business plans from all Waseda students, regardless of department and grade.

Some of the winners of the contest in the past have founded their companies based on the plan that they had presented in this contest.

The contest is currently run by the Research Institute of Business Administration.

Taichi Murakami[編集]

Graduated from the School of Political Science and Economics. Founder and the CEO of Livesense Inc. He achieved the IPO at Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section at the age of 25 in 2012, making himself as the youngest person who achieved the IPO in Japan.

Tsubasa Yozawa[編集]

Graduated from the School of Social Science. Investor and the founder of YOZAWA TSUBASA Holdings.

Hidetaka Horiguchi[編集]

Graduated from the School of Commerce. Founder and the CEO of Drip Ltd.
