MPVSとは、『Multi Player Versus』の略である。
Multi Player Versusは、日本語で、複数人のプレイヤー対戦という意味であり、オンラインゲームでプレイヤーがお互いに戦うゲームに使うことが多い。
なお、MPVSとはMPV『multi-purpose vehicle』 (多目的車, ミニバン)[1]と区別するためにMPVSが付けられている。
