Hiroki Ogasawara

Hiroki Ogasawara (小笠原博毅、born 25 July 1968) is a professor of Media and Cultural Studies, Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, Kobe University, Japan.[1]

Biography[編集]

Ogasawara was born in Tokyo and grew up in Yamanashi. He graduated from Waseda University (BA and MA in Political Science), and moved to University of Glasgow for a postgraduate research. He was transferred to Goldsmiths, University of London, then completed his Ph.D. in Sociology under the supervision by Paul Gilroy and Les Back in 2003.

Research interests[編集]

Ogasawara has been extensively writing on Stuart Hall, cultural studies and race and racism in football both in English and Japanese while translating Hall's work into Japanese. He is also regularly contributing to daily newspapers, journals as well as to football magazines.
