1951 年、北海道三笠市に生まれ、高校卒業後、京都の大学で英語を専攻。
NHK ラジオ 英会話講師の松本亨氏に師事。
東京都四谷 JACE 語学院の英語専任講師。
住友商事機電本部の住商機電貿易で民生機器の北米、欧州、東南アジア地域を担当。
海外出張多数。スリー・イン・ワン・ステレオのノックダウン輸出などでミリオンダラー・セー ルスマンと呼ばれる。
直属の上司のスピンオフに際し、協力を依頼され貿易商社に参入。
その後、独立、株式会社道夢を設立。
イタリア共和国フリウリ州の商工会議所と共に日本 に初めて同商工会議所の日本リエゾン・オフィスを設立、イタリア産品の輸入に尽力。
ヘッドハントされ愛知産業株式会社に入社。
更にその後のヘッドハントで、現職、ART-HIKARI 株式会社、海外事業部部長。
Ryoichi CHIDA was born in 1951 and brought up in Mikasa City, Hokkaido, Japan until graduation from high school.
He entered college in Kyoto where he learned English with a particular emphasis on communication, phonetics, translation, and interpretation.
To improve his English further, he then studied under Dr. Toru MATSUMOTO who hosted NHK English Conversation programs on the radio.
He worked with JACE Language School in Yotsuya, Tokyo as an English instructor.
He then joined Sumisho Machinery and Electric Trading Company, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation.
He found himself in its consumer electronics section, doing business with overseas companies.
He was mainly handling electronic parts, exporting to Canada, the USA, Germany, France, Italy, Taiwan, Indonesia, etc.
An example is: He had an inquiry through the Toronto Office of Sumitomo Corporation Canada Incorporated for a project of 3-in-1 stereo sets.
By and through marketing and sourcing electronic components, he succeeded in it and made it developed into a million-dollar business.
As his immediate superior left Sumitomo Corporation and started up a trading house, he was strongly requested to help his boss and decided to take part in it.
Several years later, he became independent and established his own trading company, “Dome Company, Limited” in Tokyo.
He worked to set up the Tokyo Office of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the State of Friuli and was appointed as its representative to promote Italian-made products on the Japanese market.
Thirteen years had passed when he got headhunted and he joined Aichi Sangyo Company, Limited.
He was then recruited by ART-HIKARI Company, Limited where he takes on his current post as General Manager of Overseas Business Division.
海外との交渉から、輸出入の貿易実務、銀行の外国為替との資金決済業務まで、一連 の流れを習得し実践している、世界でも少ない人材の一人。
また、海外との交渉や会議を通じ、同時通訳の技術を自然に身に着け、約８００回の通訳 を経験。質疑応答を含め２時間を超える英日・日英通訳を一人で行うこともあった。
１９９０年代には日本政府の内閣政務次官の随行通訳として対米貿易摩擦問題などを解 消するミッションなどに同行。
また、ボランティア活動で２０１０年から法務省関連機関にて各国在日大使館の領事部な どとの会議通訳や翻訳を実践。
２０１１年からは東京工業大学の特任教授や工学博士付きの英語アドバイザーとしても 活動。
著書として、「アマゾンの KINDLE」（アマゾン KINDLE 千田良一）にて約４０冊の英語関 連エッセーや辞書を発刊、各分野から絶賛されている。
He is said to be one of the few human resources in the world who has the knowhow and actually practices a series of overseas operations processes from negotiations with foreign suppliers and customers, import and export procedures, and fund settlement operations with foreign exchange departments of banks.
He said he had come to naturally acquire the skill of simultaneous interpretation through discussions and negotiations with his counterparts in foreign countries.
He has had tasks to perform approximately 800 interpretations. He even did an English-Japanese and Japanese-English interpretation mission that lasted for more than two hours, including a questions-and-answers section.
In the 1990s, he accompanied the Japanese government's vice-minister to the United States in order to ease trade friction between Japan and the U.S.
Since 2010, as part of volunteer activities, helping the relevant organization of the Ministry of Justice, he has been doing interpretations, as well as translations, at the time of conferences with the consular departments of embassies in Japan.
Since 2011, he has also been active as an English adviser to professors and doctors of engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
He wrote 39 books that have gained near-universal critical acclaim. His works include 30 essays (written both in English and Japanese) and 9 dictionaries, which are all available on "Amazon Kindle" (Amazon Kindle 千田良一）.
